Crisis creates opportunities for new leadership, skills and competencies: ICT Minister of State
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said the Digital Bangladesh vision announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been properly implemented in the last 12 years.
The state minister made the remarks while exchange Eid greetings in a function with the officials and employees of the department and various departments and agencies organized by the ICT department on the online platform on Monday.
Palak said the increase in the use of digital technology has made it possible to enjoy religious and social events in the Corona pandemic. Otherwise, the economy, health, education, administration, business activities would come to a standstill, he said.
The state minister said the crisis created opportunities for new leadership and the development of skills and competencies. He urged everyone to come forward with effective steps from their respective positions to transform the crisis into a possibility.
When the Covid 19 appeared as a pandemic last year, the ICT Department coordinated with all ministries to formulate five long-term business continuity plans in education, health, entertainment, internet and logistics under the direction of Sajeeb Wazed, Information and Communication Technology Advisor. Through this, we have been able to keep everything from e-filing, e-commerce, education, administrative activities and virtual courts running on the digital platform for the last 13 months.
Today, under the strong leadership of State Minister Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is gaining the status of a middle-income country. Bangladesh is a role model of development in the world. He called upon all to work together to build the "Vision 2041" assigned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, namely, knowledge-based, technology-based, advanced-rich, digital Bangladesh.
Senior Secretary of ICT Department NM Ziaul Alam presided over the function. Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Hosne Ara Begum, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council Parthapratim Dev, Director General of ICT Department Arshad Hossain and other heads and senior officials of the department also spoke in the program.
